Wooden ( Wood Gears ) Wheel Clock.
Only four wooden wheels, a rocker arm ( foliot escarpment ) instead of a pendulum, and full visibility of its operation, make this 15th century clock a fascinating conversation piece. It will run for about 24 hours on an 11 foot weight cord before shifting the weights, and is adjustable for timing. In making it, use quarter-sawed hardwood, well seasoned. Black cherry is especially recommended. Quarter-sawed wood swells and shrinks least in width.
Five pages ( 3 sheets - front on first sheet, front & back on the other 2 sheets ) B & W photos, illustrations and instructional narrative.
My plans are from original source materials such as books, magazines and other publications and the pages are carefully removed.
